2. General & legal bases

We process personal data only where necessary. Depending on the case, the legal bases are Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent), (b) (initiating and performing a contract, e.g. a booking request) and (f) (legitimate interest in a secure, functioning website).

3. Server log files

When you access our pages, our hosting provider automatically collects information your browser transmits (server log files): browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, host name, time of the request and the IP address. This serves technical provision and security (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and is deleted after a short time.

4. Hosting

Our website is hosted by a service provider that processes data on our behalf (data processing under Art. 28 GDPR).

5. Cookies & consent

Storage strictly necessary to run the site (e.g. your privacy choice) is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. External content (see below) is only loaded after your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). We store your choice locally in your browser for six months. You can withdraw consent at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

6. Booking tool (Smoobu)

To show availability and take bookings we embed the booking tool of Smoobu GmbH, Berlin. The content is only loaded after your consent; in the process data (including your IP address and booking details) may be transferred to Smoobu, in part as our processor. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR.

7. Airbnb

On apartment pages we link to our Airbnb listings and optionally embed an Airbnb rating widget. Airbnb is a service of Airbnb Ireland UC; a transfer of data to third countries (including the USA) may occur. External Airbnb content is only loaded after your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

8. Retention

We store personal data only for as long as necessary for the respective purposes or as required by statutory retention periods, after which it is deleted.

9. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You may withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for us in particular: Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (LDI NRW), https://www.ldi.nrw.de/.

10. Changes to this policy

We update this privacy policy whenever changes to our processing or the legal situation make it necessary. The current version published here applies.
